CBD oil is extracted from hemp seed containing trace amounts of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). However, the active agent responsible for its therapeutic properties is CBD (cannabidiol). This organic chemical compound does not cause addiction or intoxication, while it is used in supporting the treatment of many conditions.
Its dosage depends on the purpose of use, the type and severity of the disease and the individual characteristics of the body. Hemp oils are available in different concentrations - 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50.
Which one should you choose to be most effective for you? Take a look at our brief guide to concentrations.
CBD hemp oil - for whom?

How to choose the right concentration of CBD oil?
For most drugs and supplements, dosage is of great importance. It is said that a drug is only distinguished from poison by the dose taken. In the case of CBD, however, overdosing is quite difficult, though of course possible.
According to a 2017 WHO report on possible CBD dosage, the optimal dose for humans has not been determined. Studies have reported dosages between 100 mg and 800 mg per kilogram of body weight per day with no negative side effects. Typically, the daily amounts of CBD used range from 5 to 50 mg per day.
Commercially, CBD oil is usually available in concentrations ranging from 5 to 50%. The most popular are hemp oils with low or medium concentrations. Basically, the division goes as follows:
- CBD oil 3%, 5% - a product with a low concentration of cannabidiol, recommended for people who are starting to use it;
- CBD oil 15%, 20% - a medium concentration product for people who have been taking it for a while and know their body's reaction to the substances in it;
- CBD oil 30%, 40%, 50% and more - used in cases to support treatment of more severe conditions.
The concentration of the product affects the subsequent dosage of CBD oil!
How is the concentration of CBD calculated?
CBD oil concentration indicates the level of concentration of cannabidiol, meaning it tells you how many milligrams of CBD you will find in 1 ml of the product. The percentage designation is most commonly used, but there are also packages available on which the amount of CBD is expressed only in milligrams. When calculating the appropriate dose, take into account the size of the product's packaging and the percentage of CBD content.
For example, in a 10 ml bottle of 10% oil, 1 ml will be cannabinoids. That is, the entire package contains about 1,000 mg of CBD.
Concentration information determines the efficiency, not the potency or effectiveness of the oil. Choosing a product with a higher percentage concentration will cause you to apply fewer drops of oil per day. The content of the higher concentration, of course, affects the price.
A 10 ml bottle of high-quality 50% hemp oil is an expense of as much as PLN 700-800.
Choose the concentration that's right for you
As you can see, choosing the right dose of CBD oil, and therefore the product with the best concentration for you, depends on many variables and is a very individual matter.
When starting your adventure with CBD oils, ideally, start with the lowest doses. Gradually increase them and observe how your body reacts.
